Vinoteca

The pit stop that brought us to the quietest corner of the center

The Vinoteca is a special place- for the high quality service, the many food and wine proposals, and for its location. In fact, the wine bar/bistro is located in one of the most central areas of the city, rich in attractions, such as the wonderful Palazzo Capponi, Palazzo San Clemente, the Giardino dei Semplici, the Egyptian Museum and the English cemetery. This is a perfect place for a refreshment stop during your cultural walks.

But, what awaits you once you cross the threshold? First of all, the interior’s essentiality will strike you, characterized by clean and elegant lines, and an equally minimalist color palette. All this because at Vinoteca, the dishes and raw ingredients shine, while the location is just a frame- a stage that must add value to the dishes, without diverting the customers’ attention.

Let’s get to the food. It starts with an aperitif with wine, slices of bread, the typical crostini with truffle or lard with herbs and samples of various cured meats – one of the best in the area for this to be consumed. The platters also extend to the section of the menu dedicated to carpaccios that also include fish crudités, the famous Cecina di León and many other Spanish cured meats. There is not a speciality that is not contemplated: from buffalo mozzarella to raw to tartare, you will discover authentic flavors with every bite.

The raw ingredients are precisely the protagonists of each dish. The Vinoteca’s kitchen is sophisticatedly simple, refusing to over-elaborate and preferring to focus on the quality of the ingredients. There are not even hot dishes- soups, pastas and risottos are perfect for a light lunch, but tasty, especially if accompanied by many other specialties on the list. The selection of wines, is really wide, perfect for any type of pairing you are looking for.

In a society so obsessed with the most elaborate cuisine, it is nice to find a place that does not want to impress at any cost, but let’s talk about the quality and genuineness of its products. The team behind Vinoteca is very active, always intent on finding the innovative detail- the best, freshest ingredient to offer customers. It feels like a strong desire to give their guests a genuine satisfaction thanks to genuine dishes.

If you want to get away from the crowds, if you are looking for a relaxing moment at the end of the day, a quiet dinner or a light, but tasty break, Vinoteca will satisfy you. And we guarantee you will come back over and over again.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences florence has to offer.
